Doctoral Position in Physics

The University of Konstanz is one of eleven Universities of Excellence in Germany. Since 2007 it has been successful in the German Excellence Initiative and its follow-up programme, the Excellence Strategy.
Applications are invited for doctoral researchers starting in April 2025 or upon mutual agreement in Condensed Matter Theory and Quantum Information.
The doctoral researcher will theoretically investigate spin-photon coupling, quantum entanglement, and high-fidelity quantum control in color centers in diamond and silicon carbide.
Research in theoretical modelling and characterization of spin qubits, spin and charge shuttling, quantum coherent control, exploration of quantum gate operations, and theoretical investigation of crosstalk effects between active qubits
Investigations are part of the research program QLSI2 within the quantum technology flagship initiative funded by the European Commission
Master's degree in theoretical physics
Experience in at least one of the following research areas: Condensed matter theory, Quantum information and quantum computation, Theory of solid-state qubits, Open quantum systems, Semiconductor physics, Physics of quantum dots
