As Governance and Control Manager, you will report directly to the Head of the DACH Shared Service Centre and will be responsible for assessing process risks by conducting risk assessments, self-assessments and investigations in order to develop the necessary control measures to mitigate risks and improve process efficiency and effectiveness.

In addition, you will take responsibility for the Governance & Control vision across the organisation by engaging and training management teams and staff to increase awareness and acceptance.

Your responsibilities:

  • Continuously communicating, engaging and educating the leadership teams and line manager communities on G&C.

  • Presenting risks to the business and opportunities to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of existing processes.

  • Manage the annual Internal Control Excellence (ICE) process by conducting annual self-assessments to identify risks and areas for improvement, documenting and presenting the results of the self-assessment to the management team.

  • Responsibility for the process of annual ICE submission to the Corporate Team.

  • Actively monitor that all internal documents (e.g. internal policies and procedures, documented controls and action plans, evidence of the control execution, authorization matrices, etc.) are up to date as well as communicated to relevant associates.

  • Understand and implement best practices in key areas of the G&C from around the globe and leverage this for AniCura DACH.

  • Oversee the theft and fraud reporting process within AniCura DACH, educating staff, tracking timely and accurate reports and analysing reported cases and recommending the appropriate counter measures.

  • Leads the assessment of Balance Sheet reviews, reconciliation and process improvement necessities through active collaboration with the DACH accounting team and the AniCura Group Financial Control team.

  • Ensure timely remediation of observations from Internal and External audit reports. Supporting Internal- and External audit teams during on-site audits.

Your profile:

  • Degree in business administration, economics, finance or a comparable degree in combination with several years of professional experience in a similar role.

  • Experience in governance, risk and control, internal audit or external audit in a corporate setting.

  • Broad control and governance understanding with the capability to develop ideas and translate into workable objectives and plans.

  • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills

  • Strong communication and facilitation skills in German and English and ability to communicate and explain complex matters at all levels.

  • Very capable relationship builder with the credibility to contribute and influence the outcome of functional and operational debates.

  • Strong preference for the development of people and a natural orientation to give feedback, stretch and opportunities to others.
